I saw Avatar in 2D before I went back to see it in 3D (3D sessions had all sold out when I first went!!) It was just brilliant in 2D, to be sure. BUT, going back and seeing it in 3D was AMAZING. An actual experience, not just a movie. What I really liked about tthe 3D showing was that there was little to no blatant use of the 3D effect, ie nothing obviously put in there just for the 3D effect, the old style in-your-face sticking out of the screen stuff. The 3D presentation merely added depth to the scenes and I found it to be completely unobtrusive while making the scenery completely immersive. The story was a bit "meh" but really, who cares? James Cameron has really outdone himself, and I've always been a big fan of his (Aliens and The Abyss are my two favourite movies of all time

) Anyone waiting for it to come out on DVD is really missing a true experience here, imho. I for one will be going back to see it in 3D again.

Haha nice bugeye specs Chris... though I think these ones'll do the trick for that extra-real 4D experience
