I can just imagine how much work is involved but it will all be worth it in the end mate it's going to be fantastic and you won't know yourself.

LOL my observatory is on hold atm......I'm saving for a bargain 5D MkII from you know who.
when you do come up - bring that prissy 47DD of yours

you know watching the observatories being built - it all looked so easy and effortlessly managed, whith a sparkling and remarkable result - sorta like a garden makeover - oh how that is not true

as a builder i make a good garden knome - useless - i think i have found out that i have some muscle groups in my lower back and swollen disks - LOL the brufen is my friend ATM as for my forearms - they just throb and ache - boy what a whinger i am

the dog has chewed two pair of gloves, and deficcated right next to the observatory - a swear my wife is secretly training her to do that!!

so far i have easily spent around $900 on hardware including the timber framing, $550 for the hardwood decking boards and $410 for the concrete. my poor MC has been hit hard, though i can think of other occasions where it may have had a hiding

Probably get some decking oil and some more pines and treated pine sleepers for a garden bed border. so ther goes another couple of hundred - and the A$ is going up . I might have to have a garage sale to consolidate the collection for the observatory and then travelling
