G'day Troy,
I am dad to 6 and the first time they kick is absolutely magic! So envy you. You are about to start on the most awsome indescribable trip possible.... raising a new astronomer...
You are going to get heaps of advice and I will add my 2 cents worth but remember, this is YOUR child and you will be the parents who get up at 2am, so the final decisions are yours to make.
A couple of "Do's"
- Be totally involved, everything from nappies to feeding to bathing. You get one shot at everything with this baby and believe me, the "baby" part lasts only a few months.... a mere blink!
- Totally support your wife, listen to everything she says, but make decsions together.
- The career is important but DAD and HUSBAND leave the job for dead. NEVER forget it!!
- Love that kid like crazy from day one. Listen and spend heaps of time with your child. You can't start parenting when they turn 13.... way to late!!
- First starry night, take that baby outside and show them the universe!!! I've done it with all mine.
Congratulations and good luck
