Hello Troy,
Feeling that first kick is a truely fantastic thing. I am looking accross at my gorgeous little 12 week old little boy. The first kick, the first look after they are born are the wonderful things, the truely magical thing for me was the first and subsequent smiles, they are the most special thing to me.
Also, don't ever be affraid to cry, I bawled at my son's birth and many times since.
Please though, take heed to what I say, this is a very big change in your lives you are heading into, you and your wife must support each other, be there for each other. I am currently home alone with my son, been looking after him by myself from one week after his birth because his Mum has post natal depression. It is currently threatening to break us appart, break up our little family that up until a few days after his birth I never thought would happen. Please watch out for any signs of post natal depression in your wife and yourself too, and get help as soon as possible.
Get all the help you can from family and friends that is offered. Don't feel that you have to be super parents and be able to compleatly manage on your own.
Anyway I am sorry I didn't mean to put a dampener on things, but I don't want what has happend to us to happen to other people.
Good luck, I hope all goes well for all of you.
Paul
