I also suffer from this problem, but I solved it with:

Great little unit - I leave it plugged in and turned on all the time. My batteries (both deep-cycle) are always fully-charged whenever I want to use them. No more problems of forgetting to re-charge or turning-off after charging; no more replacement battery costs.
