I am only beginning to but if you have processing software you can drop the Brightness and or the Highlights to fix the white area. I think
Better that my first effort. I tried to do the above but couldn't get rid of the bright area. Do you have any filters on the full moon you need a moon filter. This was a quick attempt to get rid of the bright area unsuccessful but there it is
