I reckon tailgating is a matter of who's got the biggest one, truck, 4x4 etc.... Never seen a 2CV tailgating a mack truck.
In a urban/city situation truck drivers would have a hard time manoeuvering but on an interstate at 100kph tailgating a small car...
... payback time?
