Any good battery shop will stock the dry cells battery (similar to alarm system but with higher capacity) - I did mine recently and it was not too easy; you've got to watch the ratcheted plastic grips that the torch-head is attached to
and the first thing to do is to remove the clear plastic cover (at the back of the unit) above where the cable clamps are stored
