My new mount - I'm happy

Its very very quite, moves very smoothly, I cant detect any backlash, its b heavy - we have 15-40km/h winds at the moment and did't budge with the massive payload placed on it (see picture of scope and my son). Mick thanks for the EQ6 , Roger (BATSC), thanks for the refit and cleanup its a top job ! Lex (Star Optics) thanks for the great price on the SkyScan

I just set it up and plonked it on the ground, no polar alignment as such, just sorta southish and a rough guess on the latitude. So far I am very very happy. I will need lots of time to get to using this weapon well

They weren't long exposure shots but good enought to show it works. Antares, moon, venus, scorpio, and took a point and shoot shot near the triffid! i really need to set his baby up properly but it will be a hoot when it is working at full tilt

photo of the setup taken by my old minolta Dimage7 showing the pentax *istS and the 50-500 onthe EQ6. the bolts just touched the len's base and was able to hold it in place securely. Can't wait for the dovetail bar
