Jupiter GRS Dec 1st

Hi All,

Imaged Jupiter last night Dec 1st in the best conditions I have had for about a month for Jupiter. There was not a cloud in the sky and it was also quite still. A real pleasure to be out using my gear.

These are the best Jupiter images I have produced for some time although, due to the lower altitude of Jupiter and the jetstream, the seeing was about 5 1/2 / 10.

The SEB has quietened considerably with the main features in it visible in these images being the GRS and the prominent red barges that trail it.

The NEB is quite chaotic and there is some finer structure visible in the North Polar region.

These images are captured with a 16" F4.5 Newt with a Televeue 3 x Barlow working at 5 x, an Orion manual filter wheel with Astronomik Type II RGB filters and a DMK 21AU04.AS CCD.

Jupiter is still just to large for me to image it with a 5 x Powermate.

Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor
