This is a happy ending saga.
We purchased this house 6 yrs ago from a shrewd Italian couple. They installed an above ground pool into the ground. Cheap but effective. It caused no end of concern. Skimmer box too small, chlorine levels difficult to control, etc.
Feb09 I decided, come winter this pool is going and a new one to go in.
May 09. Not quite winter, a queensland rainstorm sends down 400mm in two days.
When it was over I ventured out.
An entire side of the pool collapsed. and the rest was looking bad.
Hello AAMI, ... They sent out an engineer and a long story shortened. They paid out the equivalent of 21 ten or twelve inch Dobs,
take your pick.
WOW.
I was informed from a number of sources that only AAMI would even consider the claim.
We are installing a concrete pool, that is invulnerable to storm damage, thanks to AAMI.
Photos of before and the present follow. The pool is under construction and more pix will follow.
I feel that AAMI made a fair assessement and that is why I have posted this.
