Interesting article sjastro. I can't help but wonder if this is any related to the slow down of the 'conveyor belt' undercurrent in the English channel and the west coast of France. Perhaps not the best example but if the flow rate in my aquarium is reduced algae grows ramped. Of course other factors too include, nitrate levels, phosphates as well as other nutrients.
