The quality is as good as can be expected. Remember these are 70 or so year old films and the original negatives have either been lost, or not very well kept. 4:3 aspect ratio (widescreen didn't exist back then obviously). Sound is as good as can be expected.
I've been happy with the quality, although some may prefer better image quality. Sadly, you can only do that if the negatives are of exceptional quality, and that's not very likely imho.
