Back from Flinders Ranges.

Hi all,

I am now back from a great 5 days in the Flinders Ranges, which I spent with my wife, kids (2 boys) and two other couples and their kids. The campsite was located at warren gorge which is a beautiful area, although it has been deforrested quite a bit which just makes it look like an area in the Adelaide Hills now.

I was amazed at the amount of stars I could see up there, I didn't bother putting a mag limit on it but it definately would have been around 6-7mag. Being closer to 7 than 6. I was even more surprised at 10:33pm when M31 put it's head over the hills for a glimpse. I got out my Bimocular I made (binocular made into a small refractor) and it looked awesome with a 25mm eyepiece in. I called my wife over to show her and she promptly said after looking, "thats nice dear" hrmmmmm.

I spent little time looking at the stars unfortunately, it was more a family get away sort of thing. I did manage to get a few pics of the area.

I even had a chance to do a little of my other hobby, Geocaching.
