I took a few pics of each end of the focal distance and focal range. Here's some comparison shots that show how close you can get. (I don't know why I have a singapore 50 cent piece, but whatever...)

Be careful mate. You should not really take shots, without a lens connected. The camera generates electro magnetism and can draw free floating dust particles onto your sensor.

You don't have a spare lens? It is much better to have a 50mm attached, then reverse another 50mm in front of it. Then you can tape the lens together.
