Reversing your lens.

I just discovered something you can do for a bit of fun if you don't have a dedicated macro lens. It's called reverse lens I think.
You take your lens off, flip it over and hold it in front of the camera body.
I took a few pics of each end of the focal distance and focal range. Here's some comparison shots that show how close you can get. (I don't know why I have a singapore 50 cent piece, but whatever...)
