I am guessing you are right... I think I managed to almost half the problem by careful mesh adjustment.
Nice and smooth PE introduced by worm-wheel stage is not really the problem, it can be straighten up by autoguiding..
The real problem is "noise" in gears.. 47 teeth transfer gears in particular.. +- 2~3 arcsec..
