Imitating Macro

OK, so i'm not even sure if these qualify as macro, but I am trying to use what I have. These are taken with my 250mm lens at full zoom, with minimum focal length. I was trying to achieve maximum magnification from the wrong type of lens. Well I guess it may still be the right lens for the job, if used correctly. Atleast I can stand 1.5m away from the subject to shoot these, thus not disturbing them. They might not be quite "Macro" but it's sure stealth.

Here are a few I have processed. I look forward to getting a proper macro lens in the future, but for now this is the best I can do.

Comment and critique more than welcomed.

Edit~ Does anyone know what #1 #3 are? I have never seen #1 before and #3 changes its colour depending on background. I really need to photo this girl/guy on different surfaces. He/she can be brick red colour, black, brown to green like pictured. Weird hey!??
