Gunna sound really dumb here, But please make sure the one you make is a tight fit. I bought one for a 70mm hole and the hole on my dust cover (10" dob) is about 50mm.
Looking at the sun last time there was sunspots, about a month or so ago, and the wind blew it off the hole and BANG!!!!!!!!!!!! i had some unwanted bright light enter my right eye. to my luck i was pulling away from the scopes eyepiece so no extreme damage. But bloody lucky
