When I lived in Brisbane during the late 80's we had a hail storm there. The hail stones were the size of cricket balls and they had sharp spikes on them like some sort of weird mace. The spikes were 2-3 inches long varying in length. So in effect they were nearly 4 inches wide including spikes. After I saw the first one fall I headed for cover. The damage caused by the storm was estimated at the time to be 1 billion dollars. Glad I did not get hit by that first mace, might not be here now.
