The "footprint" of the transit was really quite narrow; I worked Heavens-Above for a while and figured it was less than two km wide as well as I could judge. Parramatta Park's eastern edge seemed to be the best place for the transit; unfortunately the rain halted play.
My wife got tired of me endlessly squinting at the clouds, looking for a patch of blue.
