Yes it was dimmer than I expected as I took a wider field shot the night before which had less noise. That is over 4 hours worth and could have had another 2 really.

The TEC180 is 1260mm. The 8300 chip is something like 14x10mm and 8.3 megapixels.

Thanks, I was happy with the initial luminance downloads that made it worth putting in the time to capture it. Its a bit inconvenient when it is only imageable from about 1:30am onwards.
