1566 is a fairly bright southern show-piece galaxy. If it were in northern skies, everybody would have heard of it.
From wiki. "NGC 1566 is an intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellation Dorado. It is the dominant[2] member of the Dorado Group and also its brightest member.[3][4] It is the second brightest Seyfert galaxy after NGC 1068."
