Congratulations on the 8SE. A good choice. I agree, the GOTO on these scopes is excellent, as is the view.
I have replaced the red-spot finder on my 6SE with a right-angle correct image (RACI) finder. It saves me an awful lot of back discomfort.
I think you'll find that the spanner fits the nuts & bolts on the tripod.
