I am looking at selling my Gotostar EQ5 system. This is an EQ5 fitted with a gotostar (now run by IOptron) goto system.

I have been using it for the last 2.5 years. tracks well even un-guided and lately I have added an autoguider interface so it will accept ST4 autogiuiding.

It's portable, can track accurately and has all the needs you could want (plus some) and should be fine with a 5" scope (see my current set-up):
ASCOM drivers & compliant (can be run by a computer). RS232 compliant although runs fine with USB to RS232 converters;
Autoguide with ST4 (or pulse guide with ASCOM);
Has delivered up to 4 minute exposures un-guided, 5 minute guided. I haven't tested it further but with the ST4 autoguider it had no problems tracking a star for hours;
An 8 line LCD handset;
Great goto accuracy;
130,000 target database;
Real Time Clock (RTC) so it remembers time;
Three Park positions (so it an be re-started & remember mount alignment); One, two, three, and even all star align procedures ( even adjusts for mount cone errors); and
Plus a lot more.

See my signature & links for pictures. This may be more than you want it's just I'm looking at upgrading so I'm putting out feelers.

What more can I say apart I'm selling this to fund future projects. $650 or around that.

Edit:
I forgot a southern hemisphere polar alignment scope with the octans asterism on it that actually works!

If you want to pass on this I'll put it in the For Sale forum.
I'm really looking for something simple, don't need goto and such as I'll be using the scope mostly for Lunar/planetary and grab n go. But thanks for offering mate
