Smile Kennedy Awarded Posthumously

JFK was awarded the Ambassador of Exploration Award from the Johnson Spaceflight Centre. It was presented to the President of Rice University during the halftime break between Rice and the Navy gridiron match. Rice Uni was where Kennedy gave his famous "To the Moon" speech in 1962.

It's a pity we don't have a president with Kennedy's initiative and push, now. Even though going to the Moon, at the time, was ostensibly done for "Cold War" purposes and the related national prestige, I still think that with someone like a JFK putting the foot down and making it happen, we'd be getting things done a lot quicker than what we are at present. Problem is, the U.S. government is full of "sad sacks" with little or no imagination, no spine and little initiative. People who are more inclined to feather their own nests and those of their business mates.

In any case, it'll be a long time before another politician receives and award such as this. Congratulations to the President, for showing the world what a little bit of courage can achieve, and a well deserved award.
