Burning canefields and Burdekin sunsets

Hi all,

I was up in the Burdekin in North Queensland last week harvesting some sugarcane field trials, and saw some nice sunsets. They still burn canefields before harvesting up there, and the resulting smoke generates nice sunset colours.

The sunset shots were taken on 3 different evenings - I think the old narrow gauge railway trucks provide an interesting foreground in the first 2 images. The cane fire images show the source of the smoke. These fires are an amazing sight! These images were taken from about 500m away, but the roar of the fire was very loud even at this distance.

Anyway, thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen
