Great pics Chris.
I used to work at Coolangatta airport and at certain times of the year I used to observe many of these birds living in the bank of a small area of water with reeds that ran parallel to the main taxiway at the Northern End of the airport. They were amazing birds and so colourful. If you were ever on the Gold coast you would be able to get a lot closer than 200 meters. I didnt know what type of bird they were for awhile but once I researched them their tails and colour are a dead givaway.
Great photos that invoked some good memories of watching them a few years ago.
