You have my condolences and my thoughts go out to you, I lost my best pal in March of this year to cancer, the vet came to our house and Blue passed away peacefully in my arms, and only two weeks ago I had to endure the same with Storm (Blues older brother) who had a long term spine problem and his back legs finally gave up the ghost. It is heart wrenching even when you know it is for the right reasons. You just have to remember that at least you both shared the same love and affection for each other over the years and think that there are some poor animals out there that aren't so lucky. We have two rescue German Pointers now, Hunter and Gunner who have managed to fill the void in our lives and they help ease the grief. I know it is hard but be happy that you gave a caring home, comfort, enjoyment and affection to a friend who may not have been so lucky if he didn't have you
