i find the views wery nice, i think a nice refractor can give you good contrasty views of the planet and the moon.
for solarsystem viewing, a long focallenght is prefered, as it gives less colour, and easyer high mags.
i prefer the refractor over my 8" newt. on planets, i feel the views are better, havent really thought to much on what makes it better.
