Yes, the moon will become more of an issue in a week or so.
The sad thing about this dust storm is not the inconvenience to amateur astronomers, that will pass. The loss of the best and most nutrient-rich top soil layer in some of the oldest and most fragile soil profiles in the world is something that will not be fixed in a few weeks. Having driven through that country on the recent outback trip really drives the point home. Very sad.
