Absolutely - I had the experience with a LG screen that packed it just out of warranty after 13 months. There is a manufacturer warranty clause known as a "reasonable" period of time before something "of value" fails. LG didn't even ask me any questions. The next day I had a brand new model installed at no charge.
Depending on how much you've paid for your system they might just replace it.
