Thanks Phil, yes the impact is stretching out rapidly and but for the good seeing, would have been a lot more difficult to resolve.

Thanks Anthony, I hope the Bird Strike survives long enough for you to capture it again before it becomes unrecognizable. It would be fitting, as you were the first to image it, for you to capture its death throes, so to speak.

Thanks Dave, I don't think we have much longer to capture this impact feature before it completely breaks up.

Thanks John, I have just sampled some Victorian weather, I have been down to Bendigo to give an astronomy presentation at the Bendigo Science & Discovery Centre. The weather was a lot different to that of Broken Hill, that is regarding the amount of cloud.

Thanks Paul, I wasn't going to image on this particular night as I had a 700 km drive on the Friday down to Bendigo. The synoptic chart looked promising but I thought I still may have been right on the edge of the jetstream. When I was setup and looking at the image on my laptop I couldn't believe how lucky I was. I reckon there have been times, especially with the Saturn storms, that the seeing has been so crook that the red channel didn't look as good as the blue channel did for this night on Jupiter.

I really enjoyed the animated GIF, too. Are you able to put an RGB one up, as well?
Well done!

Thanks Humayun, I really do appreciate your comments and yes I think I may have enough RGB's for an animation, although the red channel was very nice.

Thanks Kev, not sure but we thought we may have seen you at the RTA work site on the Mildura road on our way to Bendigo on Friday, we put down the windows and young Christopher and Mother Bear gave you a wave.
