Thanks for the comments Frank.

I did a mild selective sharpen with the brush tool but I'll try an overall sharpen and see how it looks thanks for the suggestion Frank

Trevor this particular nebula is "red". In our original subs taken with the unmodded 40D it was totally red.

It is in the same region as the cat's paw neb which is also red.

The explanation we have obtained from different sources explains that the nebula is obscured by galactic dust which causes extinction of 10 magnitudes in the green and much more in the blue . It is an example of interstellar reddening which is the selective removal of blue light by minute particles of dust in the line of sight, this accounts for the ruddy hue.
