I think many people would be surprised at how pervasive
autisim is in astronomy and related technical type interest areas. I am diagnosed with Aspergers and most people who hang around with me figure it out after time. My obsessions are astronomy (obviously) and old land rovers. Either keeps me happy. I am glad you have found this connection with you son and i am sure it will only increase your bond with him. Good on you for trying and being so supportive.
