I have no problem finding a freight-forwarder. A high-school freind in Vancouver runs a shipping company. It just P's me off that we have to put up with this nonsense. Its not just Celestron. Canon and Nikon both over-charge to a ridiculous extent. Makita tools are 3 times the price they are in the 'States. Ultimately, the rest of us seem happy to subsidise the US, where consumers are more price concsious and simply refuse to purchase something that's too expensive, regardless of how much they want it. Alas, we just buy what they sell us at whatever price.they ask.
