I hope you don't mind and I know fiddling with other peoples images often actually wrecks them buuuuut it shows so much potential I had to have a play with it and I came up with a slightly different view. I just thought the stars could be a bit tighter, the colour was a bit red and white with a green tinge and I prefer this orientation..wadgya think? It's still not quite right but I recon it's a pretty good image!

You have some minor focus issues there too, how are you focusing?
Let me know when you have seen enough and I'll delete it from my web site

Thanks Mike and no I don't mind at all. A bit of feedback on how you arrived at your final image would be great. They look pretty good to me and when pointed out the oversites and things lacking etc are glaringly obvious. Focus at the moment has been a major issue. High fine cloud and even smoke from my own fire place is making focus an issue that I somehow have to overcome. Seems of late the best FWHM figures I can achieve are around the 5 to 6 mark. Being surrounded by quite high mountains does pose it's own atmospheric problems with regard to focus but the dark sky is a big plus. Thanks Mate.

Mikes repro version looks good as well.

Thanks David. Focus is my main issue but I will work through it some how.

Kind of like the high res version for these wider shots as it shows a bit more of the true detail captured. Thanks Marc
