I first watched it for memory when Daryl was a side kick and the host was a bloke named Peter McKenna.
Peter was the full forward for my favourite VFL/AFL team, Collingwood and as a kid he was my idol.
I don't remember when Peter got the chop but he was basically replaced by a pink ostrich puppet not long after he started and the rest is history.
