Hi Jeanette, last year I was involved in recording data on a grazing occultation of Antares. It really was most interesting watching Antares disappear and reappear behind the mountain peaks and craters along the Luna limb.

With the naked eye the limb looks so clean, sort of featureless but to see a star grazing it underlined how rugged the topography is which we clearly see when we observe near the terminator as you have mentioned.
