Mike,

When I go in to the "Open File(s)" screen, if I click (just once) on the AVI, above the preview window it says "FILE CANNOT BE LOADED !"

Filename: jup0002 09-07-25 23-52-50.avi
Size: 2.19GB (2,360,921,088 bytes)

By Comparison, a neptune run (lots less frames!!)
Filename: nep0010 09-07-26 00-45-52.avi
Size 22.5 MB (223,674,880 bytes)

This just works.

Codec was Y800, video size is DBK31 native (ie 1024x768).
For most of the AVI's I ran 3000 frames at 30fps, a few of them 5000 frames.

The neptune ones, I had to use 5 second exposure just to see anything, hence only capturing a tiny amount of frames my comparison.

Dennis, I'll have to refresh my memory about Virtual Dub, been years since I touched that.

I am running Vista 64 if that is of any relevance. Last time I tried this stuff I was running 32 bit, and the older Registax 4 (or maybe 3!)

I might install on another PC just to prove it is Registax and not something else.

Thanks for your suggestions so far.

Turbo
