Jupiter animation 75 minutes of the “Wesley Impactor Scar”

Hello

I am delighted to present 75 minutes of the “Wesley Impactor Scar”!

Prior to posting this, I contacted Anthony and not surprisingly, his animation will be some while a coming. So as an appertiser, here is my effort from capturing 30 AVI’s spanning the period 21:57-23:12pm AEST (UT+10) on 20th July 2009.

This 75 minute animation of the “Wesley Impactor Scar” required some 5 hours to process, so I now have a slight insight into what mountain of data Anthony is currently thrashing through!

For this animation, seeing was generally quite mediocre with some genuine “lava lamp” moments, hence the occasional gap in the sequence.

I hope you enjoy this amazing spectacle of nature, first recorded and reported by Anthony Wesley (Bird). It is quite fascinating to see the white spot appear to overtake the impact scar (at lower limb).

Cheers

PS – thanks to Mike in Melbourne for loading up the animation.
