morning sky 20 july 2009 Moon, Pleiades, orion. Mars and Venus

what a cracker of a night clear and virtually no dew, i stayed up trying out some new equipment in readiness for Astrofest. The guider I got from MyAstroShop is a pearler and perfect for remote observing. I used it for the very first time as well as the small lappy I have. I used it on the HEQpro5 with an 80mm short tube refractor in a side by side setup. Anyway got to bed by 1am - the antares shot is just stacked, yet to play with it. polar alignment needs some work...

Anyway this morning when I got up for work at 5.50am I saw this – visually it was stunning, except for the wires LOL.

Also I have added what a DSLR image of the sun through the lunt is like. Looking forward to the DMK41 I ordered.
