That's the plan mate!

They said " no problem just buy plan B" and all will be ok.
Looking into suing them
Unfortunately suing won't bring my site back, and it goes against my grain to hurt people, including companies. We all make mistakes and if I want to be forgiven for mine, I need to do the same. I think it's best just to walk away from them and look to the future.

Love the astro image heading moving with the mouse.

Will have a good read.

Thanks Barb and David, Yeah, I think it's going to be lots of fun! I can't wait until they are finished the framework and let me loose with all my new content and ideas!

What was the hosters reason for removing the site content? Are they going to compensate you for the loss? The hosting company would have a backup of your website, they're just lying to you in order to save themselves some work. If they really valued their customers, they'd help you out.

Hosting is my speciality area at work - I do all of the Windows & Linux web hosting, as well as Hosted Exchange and complex DNS at work. My employer has a back up of everything and we'd certainly help a customer out with this sort of problem. But then again, your website would never have been removed without your express written permission ;-) You pay dirt cheap for hosting, this is the sort of crap you get. I see it all the time in my line...

Dave
They gave no excuse, and we decided to move away from them. The new host IS using Linux, and the very kind and helpful guys looking after me know what they are doing. I know them personally and I am in good hands. Thanks for your warning though, it is always best to check these things out for the uninitiated.

Still working on it folks, sorry for the delay.

Baz.
