It turns out the dodgy item was my Dick Smith voltmeter. I changed the battery and tried again and the Dick Smith power supply (same as the one you have) read 11.9 VDC. So voltage effectively bang on. However, when I ran the EQ6 on it for a night, I noticed that the red light on the panel would dim to almost vanishing at the start of a slew an for the first 10 or so seconds. Mayble I also need to have a look at my worm gears or something, but I have switched back to the 5 Amp power supply all the same - which does not exhibit this same pattern.
