Ahhhh.... to reminisce about the excitement of first hearing JJJ... I think '88 maybe '89 as it took longer to get to Perth...so fresh....Maynard in the morning, Roy and HG when they were really innovative and the wonderful Ms Catriona Rowntree.....I'd fallen in love with her voice and her charm on the airwaves without even knowing how physically stunning she was too.....I remember the first time I heard Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode on JJJ, holy smoke what a great song, I have to get that ASAP...also Mick Jones from The Clash with his own outfit Big Audio Dynamite.......many others too that were not played on mainstream FM, which to give them their dues had introduced over the previous 10 years Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Steely Dan amongst others to me.
These days give JJJ a bit of a go but am largely intolerant of hip hop and rap and profanity which reduces their appeal somewhat.
