Ok guys, regardless of personal political feelings please remember that its not acceptable to use offensive language on this forum.
My personal opinion is that the gov should agree to cap the excise at an equivalent petrol price of say $1.05 per litre, and allow for maximum increases of CPI annually if the petrol price at the time supports it.
It is not for the government to be profiteering from abnormal market conditions.

You should care as the costs will filter down to every purchase made in increased transport costs and higher costs of plastics and any other petrochemical based goods. As people think twice before going on holidays or making discretionary car trips there will be a big ripple effect right throughout the economy.
