Talking Jupiter Tracking With The Moon

Sorry for the title, my teminology is lacking.

In other words, for East coast viewers, is Jupiter in close proximity to the Moon atm?

I just walked outside to a very clouded sky, there is a very brite object within wide view frame of the Moon. Is this jupiter? I can not tell through the clouds, I keep loosing the star/planet. I believe it is Jupiter, I thought I would check with you fine folk before getting excited, for later shots tonight/tomorrow morning that is.

The reason I ask, is my scope is outside (yes, the sky is cloudy, with a high probabilty of rain any time), will the Moon and Juptier separate (OMG i'm such a noob, I don't even know that.) later, not letting me get a wide frame shot of them together... Obviously not through the scope but with my camera mount on top?

I'm sure I will get a responce here, before I can conclude if it is Jupiter, through the clouds outside... Please let it be Jupiter.... I only have a 70mmx 900mm refractor so this is about as good as it gets for me.... LoL!!
I LOVE ASTrONOmY!!
