Yes, eyepieces can get fungus, not quite as easily as camera lenses (much less movement to let in air) but more moisture . Like all optical equipment, it must be dry before storage. Something most people do not know, do not leave silica gel with equipment too long. Once it is saturated with moisture, it will re-emit this moisture. Either replace or rejuvenate gel. A toaster oven is good for this.
