Aah, I see. That'd explain it. I didn't realise it was a blend.
When you use the magic tool, does it have a "feather edges" and/or "antialiasing" type setting? That'd help. I don't know what image editing software you use. I use GIMP, but pretty sure similar features in most like Photoshop etc.
