Hello,

Thank you to everyone for your nice words of appreciation, they are most welcome. To dispel any potential mystique about this image, I thought that I would post some of the components that went into the production of it; warning, the data is rather raw and dirty!
  • A single raw frame from the ST7 (3 second exposure).
  • A stack of 5 raw frames from the ST7.
  • A coloured Uranus from the Meade LPI and Vixen 4” F9 refractor with an x2 Barlow.
If I exposed the ST7 at the prime focus of the C9.25 for longer than 3 seconds, the bloated glare from the disc of Uranus completely overwhelmed the closest moon, Ariel.
